It's no lie that autumn is my favourite season of them all. I love the leaves changing, all the colours, the smell in the air - it's different as it cools down and becomes a bit crisper, I love layers, hats, scarves, boots, cosy coats, and I love the light. ....Read More

Lauren + Lee - Part 1: A sunny autumn pre-shoot
Hanging out with Lauren and Lee is a bit like a giant hug. This pair pretty much never stop laughing, so our little pre-shoot was a joy to behold.
We met up for a tasty breakfast, and a bit of a planning meeting - for What Was To Come... which was all very Secret and Exciting. But we'll get to that - as this is part 1 of a stupendous triptych of posts. Yep, we have that much ground to cover, and I promise you it's all amazing. Then we pottered around the Bristol Museum (where else are you going to get dinosaurs in your shoot?!) and afterwards found a little sunny spot in a nearby park. This has all the snuggles, all the laughs and a dinosaur - what more could you need?
Looking back at this shoot fills me with the warm feeling you get from the autumn sunshine that we played in, and from those head thrown back laughing moments, because there have been more than a few of those with these guys in the last couple of months.
Part 1: The pre-shoot -
Lucy + Adi's Thornbury Castle Engagement Shoot
It took a little organising to get a good date for Lucy and Adi's engagement shoot. Now I had something in mind (I think Lucy did too) and this time it didn't involve rainy weather, which can be tricky in the British autumn season. After a few emails we figured out a place that could work whatever the weather (but fingers crossed it would be lovely) and after a last minute change of weekend I can safely say I think we had the best day for it!
I met up with Lucy and Adi at Thornbury Castle near Bristol in South Gloucestershire, which has beautiful grounds but worst case scenario had a very lovely inside as well. The weather could not have been more beautiful if it tried. The light was, soft and golden and as I got closer to the castle everything started to get just a little misty. Perfect :)
Katie + Stephen - THE WEDDING
Katie and Stephen's wedding was a beautifully detailed and thoughtful wedding. Held in a sleepy Worcester village, with the reception in a local hall, the families absolutely outdid themselves with the DIY decorations. I mean, they had me when Katie mentioned that she thought it would be a mega feast day of yummy food.... I'm quite easily won over :) The weather was stunning autumnal sunshine, which after a week of the heaviest rain was an absolute blessing.
There was a red London bus, a village tour, afternoon tea with macaroons and mini lemon meringue and paper cranes folded everywhere!! I flipping love paper cranes!!
These guys are beautiful inside and out, and it was such a pleasure to share in your day, your laughs, your moments and welcoming family and friends. I wish you both all the happiness in the world.
Bash's Speed Shop
My friend Ben is a crafty soul, who's pretty clever at making things - but a particular project he's been concentrating on at the moment is making boards. His store is called Bash's Speed Shop.
He hand crafts a mix between the humble skate board, and it's larger sibling the long board - these are awesome for doing a bit of cruising. If you're a fan of wheel and board based activities I strongly recommend you have a look at his page here. He's also got boards for sale on his Etsy page.
Anyway, a few weeks ago now, we caught up, had a little play round a velodrome, and at the old local Slades Skate Park and caught the last of some evening autumn sun.
