Goldney Hall Bristol Wedding with Birds of Prey! // Caroline + Jamie
Caroline and Jamie got married in Clifton Hall House and meandered over to the beautiful Goldney Hall for their reception. The weather was gloriously sunny and warm, and I was pretty excited to be shooting a local Bristol wedding with a big surprise for the guests.
This couple both work for for the BBC, and Caroline especially has a love of birds and nature having worked on show likes Springwatch - it influenced our Pre-shoot (which you can see here) when we went to Chew Lake, a great spot for some wildlife and bird watching and the theme was flowing into the wedding as well with awesome table centres and a special surprise bird of prey visit for the guests! I've never seen some of these magnificent creatures so close, and they were just chilling in the shade (with their handlers) and seemed pretty happy to be making some new friends.
Caroline and Jamie's day was a great mix of elegance and organised chaos! There was lots of emotional happy tears through the day and some good belly laughs during the speeches! Goldney Hall was the perfect venue for the kids to run around and explore, tree climb and play hide and seek and there were plenty of spots for guests to relax or wander without feeling too far away. This pair pulled of a wonderfully heart felt day, and partied into the night! This is their day though my eyes (and with thanks going to my ace Second Shooter Ryan Hallett too).
*As a little side-note - Second shooters are awesome! If you want to make sure you get both sides of the story, some time with the boys in the morning as well as bride prep and an abundance of shots of your guests enjoying the day whilst you're having some couple photos done, a second shooter can help make this happen by being in all the places that I can't. (Until I perfect splitting my body into a perfect photo taking clone at least...but that's a sci-fi adventure for another time...)
