A stylish city wedding at St George's - Bristol // Chris + Jen
Ahhh. This wedding. I love a good city wedding and this one was so on point with reflecting this awesome couple and their tastes. Jen and Chris did the legal serious bit at Bristol Registry before moving onto St George's, just off Park St. Being big music lovers, they felt that this great venue would be the perfect place to hold their reception.
Chris and Jen are effortlessly cool and, at the same time two of the most down to earth all round good-eggs I've met. As soon as I received their email telling me all about the day and about how they met each other I was sold on this day. Their story started at a Eurovision fancy dress party (like all good love stories right?) and I was given accounts from the two different sides of the story which made for some great reading and a lovely bit of insight into them both!
These two are the people you want on your pub quiz team (coincidently they caught each other's eye at such an event before they started talking) - people you can sit down and have a drink with whilst talking about all things music (they're big Radio 6 fans and lovers of records - none of this new fangled Spotify lark).
Jen got into her super chic dress (from Elizabeth Avey) at their beautiful home in Bristol, while Chris nervously waited, ready and dapper at Bristol Registry. Her bouquet (put together by the talented Emerald and Jade) was full of rich jewel colours and tones, which perfectly set off the simplicity of Jen's dress. After the ceremony we nipped off to St George's for a few photos and onto the party, which was catered by The Clementine Kitchen. All the food was delicious, but I have to say I loved that gyoza were included in canapés (a subtle nod to the couples' love of Japan). There was lots of other little nods to the things that these guys love set throughout the day from the canapés, to the seating plan, to the Totoro character cake toppers (sourced from Etsy).
I could wax lyrical about this beautiful day for pages, but I imagine what you really want to see is the pictures - so, have a look below. Get comfortable though, because there's a few!
A big thank you goes out to Chris and Jen for choosing me to capture their day! I feel incredibly fortunate that I'm able to meet some awesome people in this job and be able to do what I love to make a living!
There's a full list of the supplier credit at the bottom of the post if you've loved anything from this day, so please do have a nosey!
